About the Architect

Architecture shaped by
curiosity, craft,
and deep listening.

Rekha Rajagopal is a Bengaluru-based architect whose practice is built on a simple conviction: that the best architecture begins with genuine understanding of the people, place, and purpose it is made for.

A graduate trained in architecture, Rekha brings professional experience from Kham Design — one of Bengaluru's respected architecture and design studios, known for its contextual, ecology-conscious approach to space-making. That immersion in rigorous, thoughtful design became the foundation her own practice is built upon.

Rekha Rajagopal Architects is her independent studio — a practice in its early, most intentional stage. She takes on a select number of projects with the express goal of doing each one well: with attention, with honesty, and with a clear sense of what the architecture is trying to say.

"I want every project to feel like it could only have been made for that particular person, on that particular piece of ground."

How Rekha Works

An honest
way of building.

01
Deep Client Understanding
Every project begins with conversation, not drawings. Rekha spends real time understanding how clients live, work, and inhabit space before a single line is drawn.
02
Site-First Thinking
Each site has a character — its light, its soil, its relationship to what surrounds it. That character informs every design decision from the very beginning.
03
Simplicity Without Sacrifice
Restraint in design does not mean less. It means every element earns its place. We remove what is unnecessary and keep only what is true.
04
Transparent Collaboration
Clients are partners, not observers. Rekha works with full transparency — sharing decisions, budget implications, and design rationale openly throughout the project.

Professional Grounding

Shaped by 25 years
of living practice.

Rekha's professional foundation was formed at Kham Design — a Bengaluru studio with over two years of practice in architecture, interiors, and sustainable design. Kham's philosophy — rooted in the Sanskrit concept of space (kham), ecological awareness, and cultural context — left a deep mark on how Rekha understands what architecture should do.

That background means her independent work carries the rigour of a seasoned studio, even as she builds her own portfolio. She is not starting from zero — she is starting from a place of serious, grounded exposure to what great architecture demands.
